Posterous
It seems that once again I am jumping to a new method of posting updates; now it is Posterous. Rightfully so they are giving users the best way to share and autopost any content via email. Being that I spend most of my life in email, it is therefore the best use case for me -- and I suspect, most people once they learn about it. (thanks to @cyantist for turning me on to this.)
When Google Wave was introduced I began thinking about sharing and collaboration in a web-browser in new ways, mainly "real time". Posterous isn't making me think about blogging in a new way -- I was just waiting for someone to finally do it like this.
Social discovery via Posterous is a little more unclear, I'm not sure how it's done but it does autopost to Twitter, FB, etc... so people who want to follow me there can still do so. Although Facebook Connect gave me some error about permissions and doesn't work. Will try it again later.
Will be interesting to see how Posterous monetizes this... and how this competes against, or complements, Google Wave. We are living in a weird time, with so many social networks -- and user content being shared between them.
Anyway, goodnight.
